Less Expensive Alternative To The Cima Hospital
Dr. Lev is now doing surgeries at the Santa Lucia Clinic as as alternative to the Cima Hospital. Just so you know...the Santa Lucia Clinic is an old, simple-looking clinic in the downtown San Jose area. It's been around for many years and from the outside, it definitely looks it's age. It might put patients off a bit at first sight, but according to Dr. Lev they have recently upgraded all their surgical equipment to be state-of-the-art. He and Dr. Greenwood feel quite comfortable doing surgeries there. The prices are quite a bit lower than those of the Cima Hospital and that is why, in this economic climate, Dr. Lev is offering the use of the Santa Lucia Clinic as an option to all of his patients.
The biggest difference between having your surgery done in a clinic and having it done in a hospital is that, should something go wrong in a clinic, you would have to be transported to a hospital for emergency care. Of course, it is quite rare for something to go wrong, but I always feel it is important to lay all the facts on the table for the patients to consider.
Below is a price list for surgeon/anesthesiologist fees for the listed surgical procedures including the clinic (on the left side of the comparison chart) and including the Cima Hospital (on the right side of the comparison chart).
These are approximate prices since clinic and hospital fees are calculated according to the amount of time spent in the OR. But we've noticed that most of the clinic and hospital bills have been coming in pretty close to these estimated figures so this chart should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Surgeries like blepharoplasty (eyelids) is cheaper to do at the minor surgical facility at The Cima Hospital.
Just to let you know how I personally feel about this, if it were me, or if you were my sister, I would bite the bullet and have my surgery at a full service, state of the art hospital. But that's just me. The fact is, I do trust the Santa Lucia Clinic and of course I trust Dr. Lev completely and if he puts his pristine reputation on the line by recommending the Santa Lucia Clinic, it has to be beyond excellent in quality.
