Pay It Forward

The Erika Whitmore Godwin Foundation and GriefHaven.org

Friends,
The death of a child is the worst loss anyone will ever have to endure. My dear friend, Susan Whitmore, has had to do just that.

Susan Whitmore lost her only child, Erika Whitmore Godwin, to a rare cancer when Erika was only 32. Susan took her pain and decided to help others, for she found that there was very little available for parents and families who were forced to rebuild their lives without their child. That is when the 501(c)(3) organization, The Erika Whitmore Godwin Foundation and its subsidiary web site, griefHaven, were born (griefHaven.org).

I am regularly asked to sit on boards, and I consider each request a high compliment. The only problem is that I simply don't have the time to accommodate them all, so I have made it my policy not to sit on any-except for The Erika Whitmore Godwin Foundation, that is.

The EWG Foundation and GriefHaven.org was formed with the sole purpose of offering hope, support and a gentle, guiding hand to grieving parents. The web site, griefhaven.org, has already helped hundreds of thousands of parents and family members all over the world, and has never charged any parent for anything. I encourage you to share that web site with any grieving parent you may know and to check it out for yourself. I know you will be moved and impressed.

Because I am deeply aligned with The EWG Foundation's and GriefHaven.org cause, and because I truly feel that what we give to others in life gives true meaning and purpose to our very existence, I ask nothing more from each person who receives the knowledge, guidance, and support of my services surrounding the Costa Rica experience, than to kindly make a donation in any amount to the EWG Foundation.

I was stunned when I learned that over 100,000 children die in the United States every year, and that number rises beyond 400,000 worldwide! You can only imagine how many parents that leaves every year to pick up the pieces and start the long, windy journey. The EWG Foundation and GriefHaven.org makes sure that no parent has to make that lifelong journey alone. Might I suggest again that you log onto griefhaven.org so you will get a better idea of what this foundation is all about? It's really remarkable, and I think it will touch you profoundly when you see for yourself the priceless impact this organization is having on so many lives. You might especially read the postings on the message board. Click here to read letters of support to the foundation.
